Put images and videos side by side, enhance them and document what you find
Kirby is a desktop tool for side-by-side visual comparison and analysis of images and videos. Files drop into a configurable grid, every cell is adjusted on its own, and the result is annotated and exported as a report from the same screen.
Free for law enforcement.
Everything needed to examine visual evidence, in one view

Examining images and video for a case means more than opening them. An investigator needs to see files next to each other, bring out detail in dark or low-contrast frames, step through video one frame at a time, and record what was found in a form that can be shown to others.
Kirby puts the files in front of the analyst together. Each cell in the grid is adjusted independently, a single video frame can be pulled out and analysed as a still, and two images can be overlaid at adjustable opacity and drawn on to spot the differences. Keyboard shortcuts cover every major action.
Where Kirby sits in a case
- Images and video from a seizure or a tip need examining
- Open the files side by side, enhance and step through them together
- Annotate the finding in the report view and export it for the case file
