Render exported chat logs the way the people in them actually saw them

Chat View takes a platform's chat export and shows it as the conversation looked on screen: who said what, in what order, with the attachments in place. A computer prefers a spreadsheet. An investigator understands a conversation.

Free for law enforcement.

Chat evidence that reads as a conversation

Platforms hand over chat records as tables and JSON, which is the form a computer is happiest with. For an investigator it is the wrong form entirely: the sequence, the pauses and the tone of a conversation are what matter, and none of that survives a spreadsheet.

Chat View renders an export in the look of the platform it came from, so the record reads as the conversation it was. The rendered view is faithful to the export rather than a re-creation, which is what makes it usable in the case file.

Where Chat View sits in a case

  1. Receive a chat export from the platform or a device extraction
  2. Open it in Chat View to read it as the original conversation
  3. Export the rendered conversation for the case file
