Emilia Vanderwerf is passionate about changing the world for the better. During her university years, she contributed to the Artificial Intelligence and Biomedical Computer Science research communities. In 2014, she graduated at the top of her engineering class at University of Portland. She then went on to work for Dell where she dug deep into the Windows user & kernel spaces to create a low latency, failure resilient, fully distributed read & write-back cache. Now, she hunts human traffickers as the lead software engineer at Global Emancipation Network.

In her spare time, Emilia loves reading voraciously and tending to her garden & orchard with her husband and two sweet little girls.
